Twin Valley, East Ridge, KY, set for Thursday night football

After a record-breaking performance last Friday night, the Twin Valley Panthers are happy to be back in Oakwood tonight. Much to the dismay of the Panthers, they were on the wrong end of a record-breaking performance. In last week’s 50-16 loss to Grundy, the Panthers allowed Golden Wave tailback Gabe Fiser rush for 368 yards and six touchdowns. At the end of the day, the Wave outmanned the Panthers. Marion leaves Lebanon victorious

Lebanon got off to a good start as they tried to earn their first win of the season. Jackson Mullins returned the opening kickoff to the Marion 48 yard line giving Lebanon good starting field position. RB Seth Stanley got the Pioneer offense rolling with a nine-yard run. A couple plays later, QB Casey White connected with WR Cole Stoots in the end-zone to put the Pioneers up 6-0 within the first four minutes of the game.… Read the rest

Fumbles doom Blue Devils homecoming against Pack

It’s no secret that the Ridgeview Wolfpack have one of the most explosive offenses in all of the Coalfield Sports coverage area.  What many folks are now realizing is that the Pack also have a pesky defense.  A week after causing four turnovers against the Lee High Generals, the Pack were able to create four more against the Gate City Blue Devils on Friday night.  The Pack came out of Gate City with a 35-7 victory on homecoming night at Legion Field.… Read the rest

Narrows, Morgan runs wild in victory over Holston

Narrows (4-1) made an impressive run last season after their only regular season loss. Many wondered if they would be able to do the same after suffering their first loss two weeks ago. Narrows running back Matthew Morgan ended whatever doubt the Green Wave faithful had, as he rushed for 195 yards with three touchdowns. Narrows celebrated their homecoming night with a 34-14 victory over a much improved Holston squad. Radford thrashes Giles at Salem Stadium

For the first time in 21 years, Radford (5-1, 2-0) shut out the Spartans in a 38-0 thrashing at Salem Stadium. They also ended a seven-year losing streak to Giles(3-3, 1-1) in this Three Rivers District contest. After facing electrical issues at its home field, Radford chose to move this game to Salem Stadium. Many questioned why the game was not moved to Giles but after a Thursday night downpour, Salem’s turf field was the best alternate.… Read the rest

Union notches big road victory, defeats Morristown West, 28-20

Union (5-1, 1-1): 28 Morristown West (2-4, 1-3): 20   Fans of the Union Bears are accustomed to exciting games that aren’t decided until late in the fourth quarter. Friday was no exception. The Bears needed a late touchdown and a timely interception to secure an important road victory, 28-20.
