Tazewell to Host Mount View for Early Homecoming

For the first time ever, the Mount View Golden Knights will make the winding trip over the mountain to take on the Tazewell Bulldogs. In a rare early Homecoming game, the Bulldogs will play their first home game of the season against their McDowell County counterparts. Tazewell (1-1) is coming into the game fresh off a disappointing showing versus the Graham G-Men. G-Men to Host Bulldogs for the 99th Time

  The Graham G-Men, the defending AA state champions, will play host to the resurgent Tazewell Bulldogs tonight in one of the area”s oldest rivalries. Graham is coming off a 41-27 loss to rival Bluefield in a packed house at Mitchell Stadium. The G-Men were led by their senior quarterback Devin Lester. The do-it-all Old Dominion University commit compiled over 250 yards rushing against the stacked Beavers defense, while adding over 100 yards through the air and accounting two touchdowns.… Read the rest

Tazewell Humbles Virginia High 55-14

EMORY, Va. — After losing a substantial amount of production to graduation, most Bearcat fans knew the 2019 campaign had the potential to start on shaky ground.  Few expected the onslaught that Tazewell unleashed Friday night. After the Bristol Pirates clinched their first playoff berth in 17 years, it was announced that the game would be moved to the new turf at Emory and Henry’s Fred Selfe Stadium. In their first home game away from Gene Malcolm Stadium since 1971, the Cats’ defense was torched by Tazewell’s rushing attack to the tune of 473 yards and a 55-14 setback The three-headed monster of Chancellor Harris, Josiah Jordan, and new quarterback Gavin Nunley (who took the reigns after Jamir Blevins transferred to Bluefield) gave the young Virginia High defense fits all night.… Read the rest

Bulldogs – Pioneers Ready for Battle

The Tazewell Bulldogs (2-7) make the drive down US Highway 19 to face the Pioneers (1-8) on Senior Night in Lebanon. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00. The Bulldogs won the last meeting by a final score of 53-0 in Tazewell and lead the series 18-14. Both teams have had to contend with small rosters and similar struggles so far this year.
