Twin Valley set for showdown at Thomas Walker

Last week, the Twin Valley Panthers (4-3) welcomed interstate foe East Ridge from Kentucky to do battle in Oakwood on homecoming. The Panthers were in dire needs of breaking a two game losing skid with hopes of sneaking into the top eight of the VHSL 1D playoff rankings. Not only did the homecoming king and queen dance the night away at Twin Valley on Thursday night, but Tylor Keen, Brandon Lester and Xzavier Ward helped the Panthers dance to a 48-28 win over the Warriors from Kentucky.… Read the rest

Panthers defeat East Ridge on homecoming

The next several weeks are very crucial for the Twin Valley Panthers in their chase for a spot in the Class 1, Region D playoffs.  Coming into this past Friday’s interstate matchup with the East Ridge Warriors, the Panthers were on the outside looking in.  48 minutes of football later, the Panthers achieved a critical win on homecoming night over there 2A opponents by a final score of 48-28. Twin Valley, East Ridge, KY, set for Thursday night football

After a record-breaking performance last Friday night, the Twin Valley Panthers are happy to be back in Oakwood tonight. Much to the dismay of the Panthers, they were on the wrong end of a record-breaking performance. In last week’s 50-16 loss to Grundy, the Panthers allowed Golden Wave tailback Gabe Fiser rush for 368 yards and six touchdowns. At the end of the day, the Wave outmanned the Panthers. Panthers, Golden Wave set for Buchanan County clash

  @ The epicenter for the largest upset in the Commonwealth of Virginia was in Oakwood last Friday night. The Twin Valley Panthers sat at 3-1 and were ready to play host to a Craig County Rockets team that had lost 30 consecutive football games. A win over Craig County would move the Panthers to their best start in school history with a 4-1 record. After being so dominant against Northwood a week earlier in a 52-30 victory, how could Twin Valley let the Rockets squeak through the cracks?… Read the rest

CoalfieldSports’ Week 4 OPOTW: Twin Valley’s Brandon Lester

In a Battle of the Panthers, the storyline coming away from Oakwood was about a bearded tailback from Twin Valley. Folks on the other side of the Dismal River thought a coal truck was putting in an extra shift ahead of Hurricane Florence. However, the only rumbling in Buchanan County last Thursday was Twin Valley tailback Brandon Lester. The senior tailback ran the ball 22 times for 195 yards and five touchdowns in Twin Valley’s matchup with Northwood.… Read the rest
