Richlands stuffed by Graham defense, look to rebound in Lebanon

There were fireworks. There was electricity in the air. And there was the Graham defense. The G-Men shut down a surging Richlands offensive attack, blowing past the Blue Tornado 37-10. Graham (6-2) started quick behind a touchdown run from ODU-commit Devin Lester. But soon after, Lester was ejected for a helmet-to-helmet hit. Thursday night football in Lebanon

                The Lebanon Pioneers host the Wise Central Warriors on Thursday night at 7:00pm. Both teams are dealing with a short week of preparation as it’s been coupled with the Labor Day holiday. The game was rescheduled due to Russell County Schools observing Fair Day on Friday. Coal Bowl IX: Honaker Tigers at Lebanon Pioneers

  It’s that wonderful time of the year when football returns to Harry Stuart Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm in Lebanon, as the season will begin  with Coal Bowl IX. Coach Michael Webb and his Pioneers will play host to Coach Doug Hubbard’s Honaker Tigers. Lebanon fans have declared this game to be their Black Out Game as all Pioneer fans are asked to wear black. Adversity. It is a term that Seth Stanley has familiarized himself with during the last two years of his life. The Lebanon speedster watched the final six games of the Pioneers’ season in 2017 due to a season-ending injury.   As a senior, Stanley and the Pioneers finished 2-8 on the season. Bulldogs – Pioneers Ready for Battle

The Tazewell Bulldogs (2-7) make the drive down US Highway 19 to face the Pioneers (1-8) on Senior Night in Lebanon. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00. The Bulldogs won the last meeting by a final score of 53-0 in Tazewell and lead the series 18-14. Both teams have had to contend with small rosters and similar struggles so far this year. Lebanon travels to Richlands for SWD clash

The Lebanon Pioneers (1-7) travel to Ernie Hicks Stadium in Richlands to face the Blue Tornado (4-4). Kickoff tonight is scheduled for 7 p.m.. No strangers to one another, the two faced for the first time in 1962 with Richlands leading the series 23-7. Last year’s meeting ended in a 52-7 win for the Blue Tornado. Pioneers, Bearcats set for SWD battle

The Virginia High Bearcats (3-4) will be paying a visit to the Lebanon Pioneers (1-6) on Friday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm at Harry Stuart Field. Lebanon Head Coach Michael Webb knows his team has their work cut out for them, “Va High is a very talented team. Great Skill Kids, Big on the OL and DL, Well Coached. Lebanon rolls past Castlewood

Tensions were high as the Lebanon Pioneers played host to their Russell County rivals from Castlewood. The Pioneers came into the game still looking for their first win of the season. While the Blue Devils wanted to become the first Castlewood team to get a road win over Lebanon in 39 years. The added pressure of trying to extend the home winning streak over Castlewood to 40 years weighed heavy on the young Pioneers as the they took the field.… Read the rest

Castlewood, Lebanon ready for Russell County clash

The Lebanon Pioneers (0-6) host the Castlewood Blue Devils (3-4) at Earl “Tommy” Bryant Stadium on Friday night. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. Lebanon leads the series with a  29-10-1 record. The first time the two schools played was in 1957. The Blue Devils haven’t defeated the Pioneers since their 7-0 victory at B.C. White Stadium at Castlewood in 1987. They haven’t beaten the Pioneers on Harry Stuart Field since 1979.… Read the rest
