The Tazewell Bulldogs and the River View Raiders are both searching for their first win of the young 2018 season. Saturday morning, one team will have that win and for the other the search will still be on.
In the 2017 matchup, Tazewell QB Jamir Blevins threw for 273 yards and 5 TDs to lead the Bulldogs out of Bradshaw with a 40-26 win. The then-River View senior running back Bradley Mullins ran hard for 94 yards and 2 TDs in a courageous effort for the Raiders.… 
This season, the folks at Coalfield Sports are picking five of the most intriguing matchups in the area to be the games of the week before you the fans select THE game of the week.

The annual Tazewell/Graham game has been one sided the last few years.
Is there change in the air for 2018?
Much like 2017, the 2018 season has started similar for both Graham and Tazewell, with both falling in week one. Graham lost to arch rival Bluefield (38-14), while Tazewell fell short against Virginia High (37-30) in week one.
Last season saw the Graham G-Men came out of the gate on all cylinders to lead the Bulldogs at the half 46-0, before finally winning a final tally of 52-8.…

The Tazewell Bulldogs will host the Virginia High Bearcats on Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium, officially kicking off the high school football season in southwest Virginia.
In last year’s season opener, the Bulldog’s youthfulness was on full display. The Bearcats scored on their opening possession and never looked back, coming away with a 35-0 win.
Head Coach Michael Crist’s Virginia High team comes into the 2018 season after going 7-4 in 2017.…

Tazewell, VA. – After Coach J’me Harris football team went 3-7 last season, the Bulldogs didn’t wait long to get back to work.
“We took the VHSL required dead period when basketball started,” said head coach J’Me Harris. “We started lifting as soon as the dead period ended.”
Working hard and getting better everyday is a motto that the young Bulldogs are trying to live by. In 2017, they fielded on average five to six freshmen starting on both offense and defense and only lost three seniors to graduation.…
