It was the Cam Allen show, part II, on Saturday afternoon in Mitchell Stadium.
The senior quarterback accounted for over 250 yards and five touchdowns in helping the Graham G-Men (12-1) push past Richlands (8-5) 38-10.
It only took two plays for Allen to show why he will ultimately be named the region’s player of the year. He hit Devin Lester on a 37-yard bomb to put Graham ahead 7-0.

It was quite the afternoon on Saturday on Rose Ridge.
Richlands traveled to Ridgeview for what was one of the most-anticipated matchups in southwest Virginia and came out on top with a 31-21 victory over the first seeded Wolfpack.
It looked like it would be a bad start, after a muffed kickoff forced Richlands to start the game on their own 2-yard line.
A resurgent Richlands (8-4) offense proved they were game, going 98 yards down the field for a 1-yard Trey Brown touchdown run, keyed by a long 53-yard pass from Race Moir to Taylor Horn.… Read the rest
It wasn’t exactly pretty, but it worked.
Richlands used a dominant defensive performance to upset 4th seeded Grayson County 10-0 and move on in the Region 2D playoffs.
A litany of miscues on offense stalled a bevy of Richlands drives, but when it mattered most, an opportunistic defense and special teams came up with six turnovers in the shutout performance.
Richlands got on the board first early in the second quarter behind a drive set up by a turnover.… Read the rest

The lone Saturday game in the opening round of the Class 2, Region D playoffs features a Week 8 rematch between the Graham G-Men (9-1) and the Virginia High Bearcats (5-5).
The first contest between the two teams back in October, saw Cam Allen lead the G-Men to a 44-7 rout of the Bearcats. Allen tallied four total touchdowns as Graham turned in a dominate second half performance in the blowout win, after leading 16-0 at halftime.… Read the rest

For the second week in a row, the Union Bears and John Battle Trojans will meet on the field with this meeting being the opening round of the Region D, 2A playoffs. The first meeting in the regular season finale saw the Bears defeat the Trojans 12-0 on Battle Hill in Bristol.
Both teams likely played the finale closer to the vest, both due to the rainy conditions and the prospect of the teams meeting in the opener of the playoffs.… Read the rest

Friday marked the second consecutive week that Union took the field in a downpour, but this week’s contest ended much more favorably for the Bears. Union relied on a steady dose of Aaron Stidham and a smothering defense to shut out John Battle 12-0 to end the regular season.
It was a low scoring, defensive slugfest in muddy and rainy conditions for both squds. Union (8-2, 4-2) struck first on a 25-yard touchdown pass from Bailey Turner that found Justin Falin in the end zone to get on the board and take a 6-0 lead.… Read the rest
