Week 10 brings a matchup that will decide the Mountain 7 district title. The Abingdon Falcons, flying high after notching a huge conference win over Ridgeview, can clinch at least a share of the M7 crown. If Abingdon wins out, they claim the outright M7 crown.… 
In most contests, it’s the Union Bears’ run game that gets all the publicity and scores all the points. That was not the case Friday night. Senior quarterback Bailey Turner tossed three first half touchdown passes on homecoming to lead Union (7-1, 3-1) to a 38-13 win over the visiting Wise Central Warriors (1-6, 0-4).
Turner’s first scoring strike came in the first quarter. He connected with Noah Garrison in the end zone from 15 yards out to give the Bears an early lead.…

One of the most ferocious and competitive rivalry on the hardcourt, there is little love lost between Union and Wise-Central. However, on the football field, it has became a lopsided affair. After winning the first game post consolidation, the Warriors have dropped six in a row to the Bears.… 
The wait is over.
The Union Bears finally added their first state championship as the golf team won the 2018 2A championship on Tuesday.
What began as a close tournament, ended in a blowout with the Bears’ combined score of 303 was 23 strokes better than that of second place Wilson Memorial.
The Bears were led by Austin Schlobohm, who tied for the overall lead with a 73, but lost a one shot playoff to finish second individually.… 
It was a sluggish start for the Union Bears in their first home game after a three game road trip. The visiting Lee High Generals dominated the time of possession and had double the offensive snaps in the opening stanza. But senior running back Avery Jenkins changed all of that in an instant. The track star scored three second quarter touchdowns that gave the Bears a big lead going into the break and allowed Union to cruise to a 42-7 conference victory.…

Morristown West (2-4, 1-3): 20
Fans of the Union Bears are accustomed to exciting games that aren’t decided until late in the fourth quarter. Friday was no exception. The Bears needed a late touchdown and a timely interception to secure an important road victory, 28-20.
The Trojans struck first when Zack Young found a wide open Grant Misenheimer in the end zone for a 47-yard touchdown reception to put West ahead 7-0.…

Union (4-1, 1-1) at Morristown West (2-3, 0-2)

Week six marks an end to the non-conference play for the Union Bears as they travel to take on the Morristown West Trojans. The Bears will try to move their winning streak to two after scoring their first Mountain 7 win last week while West tries to move their record to .500
This will be the first meeting between 2A Union and 6A Morristown West (TN) (In Virginia, the Trojans would be classified as a 4A school) in Morristown.… 
What was once the marquee Mountain 7 game of the season has became a ho-hum affair in recent memory. The Union Bears (4-1, 1-1) extended their winning streak over Gate City (0-5, 0-2) to four with a 33-13 victory at Legion Field in Gate City.
The Bears found the end zone on their first five possessions. Four of those scores came in the first half to take a 26-0 lead into the break.…
