Panthers, Tigers meet for BDD Opener

  VS. Two undefeated teams will meet up in their Black Diamond District opener on Friday night. Fuller Field at EMats Stadium will be packed to the brim when the Twin Valley Panthers travel to take on the Honaker Tigers. Twin Valley has had a phenomenal season so far. Honaker is the first team from the Commonwealth of Virginia the Panthers have faced. Wave rolls toward Lebanon to take on Pioneers

    A week removed from a 40-12 interstate victory over the RiverView (WV) Raiders, Grundy travels to take on former Southwest District rival Lebanon.   Lebanon stands at 0-2 after falling in the Coal Bowl to Honaker, 35-28, in week one and taking a 48-8 thumping by the Lee Generals in week two.   Seth Stanley has run like a mad man for the Pioneers in the early onset of the season.… Read the rest

UVa-Wise football ready for 2018 season

The days of shootout football in Wise seem to be over. It used to be the norm to walk into Carl Smith Stadium on a brisk fall afternoon and expect a score resembling that of a high school basketball game. Insert head coach Dane Damron and his staff, which includes Shap Boyd at defensive coordinator.
