Tigers, Raiders set for battle on homecoming night in Honaker

After starting the season 3-0, the Honaker Tigers have hit a two-game losing skid. The Tigers are indeed into the meat of their schedule and it will not get ant easier when the 3-2 J.I. Burton Raiders travel to Fuller Field for battle. Honaker is coming off a 41-17 defeat at the hands of the George Wythe Maroons last week at Pendleton Field in Wytheville. Behind a Cole Simmons and his 166-yard, three-touchdown performance on the ground, the Maroons outgained the Tigers in total offense, 349-218.… Read the rest

Panthers, Golden Wave set for Buchanan County clash

  @ The epicenter for the largest upset in the Commonwealth of Virginia was in Oakwood last Friday night. The Twin Valley Panthers sat at 3-1 and were ready to play host to a Craig County Rockets team that had lost 30 consecutive football games. A win over Craig County would move the Panthers to their best start in school history with a 4-1 record. Rebels, Generals set for war in West Virginia

Panthers, Rockets set for take off Friday in Oakwood

Was that Brandon Lester or a coal truck barreling through Oakwood last Thursday? If you ask Chris Duble and the Northwood Panthers, they would vouch that Lester and coal truck are synonyms. In a 52-30 Twin Valley victory, Lester could not have performed at a higher level. The senior tailback scored 38 of Twin Valley’s 52 points a week ago.   VS. Two undefeated teams will meet up in their Black Diamond District opener on Friday night. Fuller Field at EMats Stadium will be packed to the brim when the Twin Valley Panthers travel to take on the Honaker Tigers. Twin Valley has had a phenomenal season so far. Honaker is the first team from the Commonwealth of Virginia the Panthers have faced.
