Bearcats claw Bulldogs in 2018 season opener

Whether it’s been the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the Four Horsemen led by the great Knute Rockne at Notre Dame or the stylin’ and profilin’ Four Horsemen of the NWA/WCW days, the term “Four Horsemen” has always been applied to a quartet of greatness. Fighting Like Cats and Dogs: Virginia High/Tazewell Preview

  The Tazewell Bulldogs will host the Virginia High Bearcats on Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium, officially kicking off the high school football season in southwest Virginia. In last year’s season opener, the Bulldog’s youthfulness was on full display. The Bearcats scored on their opening possession and never looked back, coming away with a 35-0 win. Bears, Bearcats show flashes of potential in benefit game

Leave it to the Union Bears to make a benefit game dramatic. The Bears traveled to Bristol to take on the Virginia High Bearcats for a scrimmage, their last preseason test before opening the season against John I. Burton on Aug. 23rd. While the game does not count towards your record, it came down to a last second Union stop for the Bears to prevail, 24-20. Virginia High to host Union in benefit game

On Thursday night August 16th, the Union Bears will travel to Bristol to take on the Virginia High Bearcats for 2018’s benefit game. This will be the second consecutive year that these two teams have locked horns in the final tune-up before the start of the regular season. Last year’s contest was closer than expected. It also served as a pretty accurate forecast of things to come.
