Titans strike down Eagles in Scott County Super Bowl

  For folks in the Twin Springs and Rye Cove communities another Scott County Super Bowl is in the books. In what was a back and forth contest in the first half, the mighty Titans defense pitched a shutout in the second half to claim a 34-24 victory over the county rivals. Twin Springs, Rye Cove set for 51st annual Scott County Super Bowl

“We win Game 10” is a common phrase that’s heard in Nickelsville or Clinchport. A rivalry that goes back to 1969 takes center stage this Friday in Valley Creek at Titan Stadium. This will be the 52nd meeting between the two schools while they have only met once in the playoffs. Titans topple Pioneers to keep playoff hopes alive

  Coach Keith Warners Titans have kept their playoff hopes alive. Needing to win their final two games against Thomas Walker and Rye Cove, the Titans took their first step this past Friday night as they went on the road and upended the highly favored Pioneers, 35-13. Coach Nick Johnsons Pioneers have now lost two in a row after a 6-1 start to their season. Pioneers, Titans set to tangle in Ewing

Twin Springs (4-4, 0-3) and Thomas Walker (6-2, 2-1) have quietly developed a nice little rivalry on the gridiron over the years. The teams have beaten on each other for quite some time and for the last 15 meetings, Thomas Walker has won eight of those contests while Twin Springs has been the victor in seven of the meetings. The Pioneers upset the Titans in 2015 in Ewing 26-21 but then Twin Springs followed with a 62-31 thrashing of the Pioneers in 2016.… Read the rest

Spartans blank Titans

Eastside played possibly their best defensive game of the year last Friday night as they went on the road and shutout the Twin Springs Titans, 20-0. Three players totaled double digit tackles and the Spartans held the Titans to only 97 yards of offense. The Spartans done all of their damage in the first half as they led 20-0 at halftime. Titans throttle Huskies, set to host J.I. Burton

After suffering a tough loss last Friday against Holston, Twin Springs bounced back nicely with a 48-12 demolishing of North Greene. “We wanted to keep our foot on the gas.” Said Titan head coach Keith Warner. “These kids play hard, they fight for four quarters every Friday night.” The Titans defense has been stout for the first three weeks of the season. Titans set to travel to North Greene, looking for second win of the season

After the first two weeks of the season, the Twin Springs Titans are holding a 1-1 record. After a 30-14 romp of the Northwood Panthers during week one, the Titans found themselves on the wrong end of a 43-6 defeat last Friday at the hands of the Holston Cavaliers.
