The Narrows Green Wave has been lights out this season.
In fact, the Green Wave has yet to allow a point.
In week one, they shut out Auburn 14-0.
In week two, they blanked the Northwood Panthers 37-0.
Kelly Lowe has his squad off to a big start in 2019.
Chase Blaker and Chad Blaker put on a show against Northwood in Narrows home opener a week ago. Chase found the end zone on the ground twice and through the air once against the Panthers.… 
The inaugural football coverage season has come to a close. With the end of the season comes postseason awards—CoalfieldSports.com will recognize the achievements of athletes across the region. During the last month, our staff compiled a list of deserving nominees for a first and second team All CoalfieldSports squad, in addition to an honorable mention. After a list of nominees was finalized, the CoalfieldSports.com staff voted on who made each team.… 
The mantra for the Chilhowie Warriors this season was “Unfinished Business.”
On the opposing sideline, the Riverhead Gladiators countered that statement to model their 2018 season after.
“We are not into hash tags and all that,” said Riverheads head coach Robert Casto. “My kids always said #TakingCareofBusiness.”
In a dominating performance, Riverheads cruised past Chilhowie for the second straight season in the VHSL Class 1 state championship by a score of 35-7.…

As the Chilhowie Warriors take the field Saturday at Salem Stadium, it will mark the second time in 363 days that the Warriors have hit the turf in the Roanoke Valley in search of a state championship.
2018’s VHSL Class 1 football state championship features a rematch from a year ago between Chilhowie and the Riverheads Gladiators. The Warriors look to avenge an embarrassing 42-0 loss at the hands of Riverheads last season.… 
Unfinished business. Those two words have been the mantra for the Chilhowie Warriors football team in 2018. Those words are in reference to the quest for a state championship for the small Smyth County school. A season ago, the Warriors came up one game short in that quest, a 42-0 loss to Riverheads in the class 1 championship game. The Warriors will get a second chance to conquer the quest after a 28-7 victory over the Galax Maroon Tide on Saturday.…
