Falcons, Blue Devils set for Mountain 7 showdown

The Gate City Blue Devils make the journey from Scott County to Falcon Field in Abingdon this Friday.  Gate City looks to find a winning formula, while the Falcons look to continue where they left off in a week one win over John Battle.  The side note to this contest is that former Falcon head coach Darren Reed returns to Falcon Field as the defensive coordinator for Gate City. Falcons smack Rebels in benefit game

The annual benefit game between Abingdon and Patrick Henry was held August 16.  As usual, it was the dog days of summer in Glade Spring–hot and humid with a hint of football in the air.  Rebel quarterback Brady Stiltner struck first with a 53-yard touchdown pass to give Patrick Henry a 6-0 advantage in the first quarter.  Abingdon’s offense settled in and started executing.
