The Narrows Green Wave have rolled through the 2019 regular season with ease.
In his 17th year as the head coach of the Wave, Kelly Lowe has led his team to a 10-0 record. That marks the first undefeated season since 1979 for the team that calls Ragsdale Field home.

Richlands scored early and often, dispatching the Virginia High Bearcats 59-21.
The Blues (6-4, 4-1) used a prolific offensive attack that accounted for 539 yards of offense to run past the Bearcats (1-9, 1-4). While the Bearcats’ season ends, Richlands blows into the playoffs as the 5 seed in the Class 2D bracket.
Playing on senior night, quarterback Cade Simmons went 6-10 for 138 yards with three total touchdowns on the night.…

#6 Tazewell (7-3) vs. #3 Graham (8-2)
Tazewell/Graham, David vs. Goliath, is set for this Saturday at Mitchell Stadium.
It’s a tale of two different programs as these two county rivals are set to clash in the VHSL Region 2D playoffs. One team is coming off of a storied State Championship season and looks to repeat while the other playing in its first playoff game since 2014.…

#8 Honaker (5-5) vs. #1 Patrick Henry (10-0)
A first round matchup in Region 1D features a regular season rematch between two district champions.
The Black Diamond District champion Honaker Tigers are set to take on the Hogoheegee District Patrick Henry Rebels on the turf of Fred Selfe Stadium at NicewonderField on the campus of Emory and Henry College on Friday night.
Both teams come into this first round matchup after ending the regular season on two totally different notes.… 
Central (7-2) at Grundy (4-5)
A win tonight in Buchanan County could take the Central Warriors to heights they have previously been unaccustomed to. Grundy alum Luke Owens has the Warriors rolling into Buchanan County with a 7-2 record, having won its last four contests.
The four game winning streak ties a program best from 2011 when the Warriors were able to defeat Lee, Johnson County, TN, Union and Eastside in back-to-back-to-back-to-back weeks in their inaugural campaign. … 
Hurley (4-5) at Twin Valley (2-7)
2019 could come to a close for both of these Buchanan County foes on Friday. However, one would love to cap the season off with a win over a Black Diamond District rival.
Both squads are currently riding losing streaks into Friday’s showdown in Oakwood.
After starting his first season as a head coach 2-0, Austin Cooper and the Hurley Rebels have gotten cold, as the red and gray have dropped three in a row to bring their record to 4-5. …

Patrick Henry (9-0) at Northwood (1-8)
Thursday night’s Hogoheegee District matchup features two teams who have had entirely different seasons.
The Northwood Panthers are set to pack things up after tonight in what has been a woeful first season for Tim Johnson in Saltville. The Panthers lone win came in a 18-0 shutout over Twin Valley back on September 20. The Panthers have lost six consecutive games since in a season where they are being outscore by opponents 322-77.…
