The Ridgeview Wolfpack were on top of the world heading into this past Friday night’s Mountain 7 district game with the John Battle Trojans. The Trojans were looking for a place to belong in the Region 2D playoff hunt. After 36 minutes of football, it was a deadlock on who would come out of Friday night’s contest as the superior team. The Wolfpack took command in the fourth quarter and rattled off 17 unanswered points, taking a 24-7 win to keep their perfect record intact.… 
In most contests, it’s the Union Bears’ run game that gets all the publicity and scores all the points. That was not the case Friday night. Senior quarterback Bailey Turner tossed three first half touchdown passes on homecoming to lead Union (7-1, 3-1) to a 38-13 win over the visiting Wise Central Warriors (1-6, 0-4).
Turner’s first scoring strike came in the first quarter. He connected with Noah Garrison in the end zone from 15 yards out to give the Bears an early lead.…

It was a sluggish start for the Union Bears in their first home game after a three game road trip. The visiting Lee High Generals dominated the time of possession and had double the offensive snaps in the opening stanza. But senior running back Avery Jenkins changed all of that in an instant. The track star scored three second quarter touchdowns that gave the Bears a big lead going into the break and allowed Union to cruise to a 42-7 conference victory.… 
It’s no secret that the Ridgeview Wolfpack have one of the most explosive offenses in all of the Coalfield Sports coverage area. What many folks are now realizing is that the Pack also have a pesky defense. A week after causing four turnovers against the Lee High Generals, the Pack were able to create four more against the Gate City Blue Devils on Friday night. The Pack came out of Gate City with a 35-7 victory on homecoming night at Legion Field.… 
Heading into Friday night’s Mountain 7 District clash with the Lee High Generals, most folks wondered if the Wolfpack would have a letdown after defeating the Union Bears the week before. 48 minutes later, the Wolfpack delivered an emphatic answer with a 49-7 thrashing of the Generals in Ben Hur.
The Generals received the opening kickoff and were forced to go three and out and punt the ball away. The Wolfpack didn’t take long to get the scoring started on the evening. … 
What was once the marquee Mountain 7 game of the season has became a ho-hum affair in recent memory. The Union Bears (4-1, 1-1) extended their winning streak over Gate City (0-5, 0-2) to four with a 33-13 victory at Legion Field in Gate City.
The Bears found the end zone on their first five possessions. Four of those scores came in the first half to take a 26-0 lead into the break.…
