Spartans blank Titans

Eastside played possibly their best defensive game of the year last Friday night as they went on the road and shutout the Twin Springs Titans, 20-0. Three players totaled double digit tackles and the Spartans held the Titans to only 97 yards of offense. The Spartans done all of their damage in the first half as they led 20-0 at halftime. Gate City uses big first half to put away Generals

Gate City continued their offensive outburst against the Lee High Generals last Friday night at Legion Field in Gate City. After scoring 55 points against Marion a week before, the Blue Devils defeated the Generals 51-27, with 45 of those points coming in the first half. Michael Calhoun, D’Andre Mack, Luke Reed and Carson Jenkins all scored touchdowns in the first quarter as Gate City led 25-0 after the first period.… Read the rest

Bears upset by Warriors

  After their big win over Ridgeview, the Union Bears were blindsided by the Wise Central Warriors last Friday night on the road in Norton. In upset fashion, the Warriors ran past the Bears 21-13. “We didn’t play well, we shot ourselves in the foot.” Stated Union head coach Travis Turner. “Give them credit, they played extremely hard and we didn’t do a very good job coaching.” A lackluster start from the Bears suggested that an upset was looming.… Read the rest

Gate City aims to keep Lee High winless

  Lee High beating Gate City on the football field is something that hasjust not came easy. The Generals have defeated the Blue Devils just one time in the last 15 years. That victory came in 2017 at Legion Field in Gate City, a 35-0 tail whipping of the Blue Devils. Bears maul Wolfpack inside Bullitt Park

  All week the hype was surrounded around Trenton Adkins and the undefeated Ridgeview Wolfpack. When the final horn sounded Friday night it was the Union Bears who were celebrating a huge Mountain 7 win. Union suffers first setback of season in 21-14 loss to Paintsville

  With one half of the season already down, the Union Bears were perfect. The second half of the season didn’t start off as planned as they suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of the Paintsville Tigers in a 21-14 slugfest at Bullitt Park. Bears use quick start to stave off Blue Devils
